Error Code 12004-4 usually occurs if the second installation of Office was started before the first installation was finished or if you restarted your computer before the current Office installation was finished.

Windows 10 :

1. Press the Windows logo key and the letter R to launch the Run window.

2. Enter the command “control” and the hit Enter.

3. Then, select Programs and Features.

4. Now, scroll and select the Office product and click Change at the top of the Window.

Windows 8.1 :

1. Press the Windows logo key and the letter R to launch the Run window.

2. Enter the command “control” and the hit Enter.

3. Then, select Programs and Features.

4. Now, scroll and select the Office product and click Change at the top of the Window.

You might need to restart your computer after uninstall is complete.

Now try to Install Office program and check if the issue (Error code 12004-4) persists

Step 1 :

Go to office.com/setup and enter your product key.

Step 2 :

Enter Microsoft account details to verify the product key

Step 3 :

Select the language and click on install to start the installation

Step 4 :

Now office is installing on your computer

Step 5 :

Now office was installed successfully

If the issue (Error Code 12004-4) persists after installing the Office 2016/ 365,

There might be an issue with system registry settings , configuration files or temporary files.
